TeenagersAccording to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, between 16-33% of children and adolescents are obese. These numbers have tripled in the last 20-30 years. There are so many factors that have led to this devastating increase in overweight and obesity among young people. Two of the main problems are youth are not moving and exercising enough (neither are we as adults!) and they are also not making healthy eating choices (strike two for adults as well! J). Whether you are young or old, you’ve gotta move and you have to eat well (I know that no one wants to hear it but it’s the truth! J). I have had extensive experience working with teenagers with self-esteem and body image issues. I love to work with kids in order to help them make healthy changes in their lives so they can feel better about who they are on the inside and on the outside.
